I'm 59 years old. Am I too old to start Strong & Thriving?
The answer is a resounding NO! In fact, this is the perfect time to start. As we age, it becomes increasingly important to engage in strength training. Muscle loss begins as early as our 30s, and this loss accelerates with each passing decade. Additionally, during perimenopause and menopause, there's a heightened risk of bone loss, and building muscle can help strengthen your bones. Strong & Thriving is designed for women who have approximately six months of strength training experience or more. Is it really possible for women over 50 to create amazing bodies? Be honest.
Let's be candid. First, it hinges on your personal definition of 'amazing.' Our bodies naturally age, and while it might not be feasible to replicate the physique you had in your twenties, I wholeheartedly believe that women over 50 can attain incredible physical fitness.

I haven't exercised in years. Will I be able to do this program?

Will lifting weights make me bulky?
Definitely not! It's extremely challenging for women to build enough muscle to appear bulky. Our bodies lack the necessary testosterone levels for such results. For the very few women who can achieve significant muscle growth, it's not something that happens accidentally. It involves using extremely heavy weights, intense workouts, and a strict dietary regimen that goes beyond the scope of the Strong & Thriving program.
I don't have any exercise equipment. What will I need?
Strong & Thriving can be done at home or in a gym. If you plan to train at home you will need a range of dumbbells, resistance bands, and a physio (ab) ball or sliders.
How many days per week will I need to train?
The Strong & Thriving program offers training plans for 3 days per week, 4 days per week, and 5 days per week. Simply follow the plan that aligns with your schedule best.
